Taxation

Mark advises clients with respect to the tax aspects of proposed transactions on all levels, including personal, corporate and partnerships.

Estate Planning and Administration

Mark helps clients with all of their estate planning needs, including wills, trusts and probate.  Mark has administered estate having values in excess of $40 million and has assisted clients in planning to reduce their gross estate.  Such planning has included life insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, charitable trusts and asset protection trusts.

Entity Formation

Mark is experienced in the formation of corporations, limited liability companies and the analysis of what type of entity makes the most sense for the particular client’s situation.  Mark has also been involved with forming 501(c)(3) organizations.

ERISA, Qualified and Nonqualified Retirement Plans

Mark has drafted qualified retirement plan, including 401(k) plans, for many clients to help them save for retirement.  Mark can help the client analyze what type of plan makes the most sense in the client’s situation.  Mark has also assisted clients with the voluntary compliance program when a client’s plan is in danger of losing its qualified status.

IRA Planning

Mark helps clients utilize their IRA funds to invest in non-traditional investments, including real estate.

IRS Audits

Mark can represent clients when the IRS or Oregon Department of Revenue is conducting an audit.  Such representation is at all levels, including the Tax Court, if necessary.
